Loading Music

With Hi-Fi, there’s no need to add music directly — instead, Hi-Fi accesses the music that’s in the iOS music library on your iPhone or iPad.

Hi-Fi supports four ways to access your music. It sounds complicated, but it isn’t — especially if you already listen to music in the Music app.

  1. Apple Music subscription
  2. iTunes Match subscription
  3. iTunes Store purchases
  4. Syncing files from a Mac or PC to your device

Regardless of the approach (or mix of approaches) you take, you’ll need to grant Hi-Fi access to your music library. Once you do, all of your music will show up automatically. If you’ve already done that and you don’t have any music, continue reading to learn more about ways to load music onto your iPhone or iPad.

An Apple Music subscription provides access to millions of songs. It also syncs your personal library across devices, including music that you’ve imported from other sources such as CDs.
